I structure every teaching engagement to work for a specific group. Typically I work with an organizer at a particular location to bring me into their region and put on one or more of my courses. The variety of courses I do is detailed below. If an organizer isn’t bringing me to your region then you can contact me to become an organizer. If you prefer to come to my location (Western Wisconsin) then contact me for details.

This is the flagship class. We work on fundamental USPSA skills and apply them in a stage environment. We shoot a mix of drills and stages.
We also work on hitting small targets, moving around through stages, and breaking down stages. Don’t let the “Fundamentals” in the title for this class mislead you. This isn’t a class for new shooters. This is geared towards people that already shoot USPSA, understand scoring and safety rules, and want to improve.
Students should leave class with an idea about how to dry practice more efficiently and how to improve the foundation skills for USPSA.
This is a "how to train" class. Whatever level you are at, at the end of the class you should have a good idea of how to get to the next level. We work through a variety of drills from "Skills and Drills" and shoot stages.
This class features difficult scenario style drills and very little fundamental practice. The emphasis in this class is on learning how to do live fire practice sessions.
This is a class that is best done with a smaller group. I also strongly recommend that you have done a Fundamentals class before moving on to this one.
Advanced shooting skill builder class is unlike the other class offerings in that it is an entirely drill based shooting class. This is for small groups of advanced students that want to take their game to the next level. The drills done in this class are focused on eliminating “lag time” in all shooting and movements.
This course requires the use of lots of ammunition. It also requires the students be advanced enough to benefit from the more complicated concepts presented.
This class is typically not a “stand alone” class. It is scheduled before or after a USPSA Fundamentals class.
I am available during the week for training at my home range in Wisconsin. These classes are tailored to the individual. Contact me for details.
If I am coming to your range to do a class, it is beneficial to schedule another one on the same trip. The most common scenario is to do a Skills and Drills class with a small group during the week following a Fundamentals class. This allows me to do that class at a lower price or with a smaller group.
My goal is to show people how to practice. I want you to have a plan for improvement when you leave the range.
“Ben proved to be an effective instructor. Clearly, he likes to mess with people, hence some of his internet notoriety. But he was also a good dude who did a lot to help everyone in class, using everything from compliments and positive comments, to expressions of expectation to induce pressure. Ben was a great pistol shooter, and clearly a human too. It was evident he’s done an awful lot of work to be able to perform so well.”
“Ben is an excellent teacher, prodding his students to their limits in order to guide them through to greater heights. While the course material is very specific and oriented to advanced competition shooters, it really does help those specific folks through the hurdles that they may be encountering.”
“All in all... worth every damn cent of the cost. While I learned a lot it was more of a reinforcement of information already there. He's put it down in black and white in his books. Buy the books, lots of his material is in there. If you have a chance to take a class from Ben... do it. It will reinforce the material in the books in a powerful way. I am also reminded what I already knew which is... there isn't any magic secret knowledge that will make you better overnight. It's hard work. Not only do you have to have the drive to do the work... you have to work on the right things.”
“The class was, in a word, freakin' awesome.
In more words, I'd say I probably learned more about getting better at USPSA (and shooting generally) in 2 days than I have in the last year of shooting matches.”
