I structure every teaching engagement to work for a specific group. Typically I work with an organizer at a particular location to bring me into their region and put on one or more of my courses. The variety of courses I do is detailed below. If an organizer isn’t bringing me to your region then you can contact me to become an organizer.
This is the flagship class. We work on fundamental USPSA skills and apply them in a stage environment. We shoot a mix of drills and stages.
We also work on hitting small targets, moving around through stages, and breaking down stages. Don’t let the “Fundamentals” in the title for this class mislead you. This isn’t a class for new shooters. This is geared towards people that already shoot USPSA, understand scoring and safety rules, and want to improve.
Students should leave class with an idea about how to dry practice more efficiently and how to improve the foundation skills for USPSA.
This is a "how to train" class. Whatever level you are at, at the end of the class you should have a good idea of how to get to the next level. We work through a variety of drills from "Skills and Drills" and shoot stages.
This class features difficult scenario style drills and very little fundamental practice. The emphasis in this class is on learning how to do live fire practice sessions.
This is a class that is best done with a smaller group. I also strongly recommend that you have done a Fundamentals class before moving on to this one.
Advanced shooting skill builder class is unlike the other class offerings in that it is an entirely drill based shooting class. This is for small groups of advanced students that want to take their game to the next level. The drills done in this class are focused on eliminating “lag time” in all shooting and movements in order to maximize efficiency. Elimination of hesitation to go to the next target or start to the next task is a big boost to anyone's shooting. That is the focus here.
This course requires the use of lots of ammunition. It also requires the students be advanced enough to benefit from the more complicated concepts presented.
The students are presented a set of drills and training concepts and then work in small groups in individual bays. Ben circulates among the bays to answer questions and give feedback. The students run their own timers. This increases the amount of repetition possible.
This class is typically not a “stand alone” class. It is scheduled before or after a USPSA Fundamentals class.
If I am coming to your range to do a class, it is beneficial to schedule another one on the same trip. The most common scenario is to do a Skills and Drills class with a small group during the week following a Fundamentals class. This allows me to do that class at a lower price or with a smaller group.
My goal is to show people how to practice. I want you to have a plan for improvement when you leave the range.
